Mechanical Technician

We are looking for an efficient, flexible, meticulous, and self-motivated mechanical drafter. As a member of the sustaining engineering team, you will be assisting the engineering team to design, evaluate parts, create specifications, qualify alternatives, design jigs, and fixtures, create instructions, and achieve targets on quality, cost, time to market, and innovation of products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support transfer activities of existing designs from one manufacturing location to another
  • Support transfers of new designs from R&D to production
  • Work closely with the engineering team to evaluate samples against specs. Identify correction/updates/improvements to existing documentation.
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, assembly/work instructions, labels, cabling, sheet metal, and other mechanical documentation that are fully aligned with best practices and standards.
  • Systematic evaluation of golden samples to determine the accuracy of existing documentation.
  • Proper handling, recording, and storage of golden samples and tools.
  • Design and build product test fixtures for manufacturing use.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical, Associates’s, or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or a related field.
  • 3+ years of related work experience on technical drafting, FAI, Rework/assembly instructions preferably on power supply products and assembly fixtures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks, Pro-E/Creo, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of customer satisfaction. 
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
