Weave Solutions was named a Net Zero Collective Progress Honoree at the Philippine Net Zero Conference 2026 (NZCA Con 2026), held September 15–16 in Pasay City, Metro Manila. The two-day conference, convened by the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) alongside First Gen Corporation and the Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx), carried the theme “Bridging Gaps: Radical Collaboration for a Net Zero Future” and marked NZCA’s 5th anniversary — five years since a group of Philippine companies first committed to building a net zero future together.
Governance, Disclosure, and the Finance Gap
The conference’s first day focused on the operational realities corporate decision-makers and sustainability practitioners are currently working through: climate governance, mandatory sustainability disclosures, carbon footprint tracking, and mobilizing climate finance.
Financing was a recurring topic because it is a constraint few individual companies can resolve on their own, but it was not the only one raised. Across the day’s sessions and discussions, several bottlenecks came up consistently: material and equipment constraints for decarbonization projects, limited energy transmission capacity for moving renewable power to where it is needed, and a knowledge and skills gap.
NZCA Executive Director Atty. Allan Barcena addressed this directly in his opening remarks: “The global energy crisis has made one thing unmistakably clear: protecting our climate and insulating our businesses from severe risk are the exact same fight.” The remark framed net zero less as a voluntary sustainability initiative and more as a component of business continuity, tied to energy security and supply chain risk.
Recognized for Measurable Progress
This year, Weave came away from the conference with recognition to match the work: we were named one of four organizations to receive the Net Zero Collective Progress Honoree award. The honor reflects Weave’s commitment to building out its own net zero performance and its consistency in meeting the Alliance’s essential reporting requirements – the groundwork that ultimately feeds NZCA’s collective accomplishment report each year.
What the Collective Numbers Show
Among the partners reporting Scope 2 emissions data through the Gateway, Weave was specifically highlighted as part of the 11 reporting partners to have achieved an average 42.47% reduction in Scope 2 emissions. Part of the 4 partners with reported reductions between 58% and 92%. Across the group, one of the six partners reported with a combined decrease of 5,921,367 kWh in electricity consumption.
These figures represent measured results across more than a dozen organizations, achieved through a combination of energy efficiency measures, renewable energy sourcing, and operational changes. They indicate that emissions reductions tied to net zero commitments in the Philippines are being reflected in utility consumption and emissions inventories across multiple industries.
The Work That Comes Next
For Weave, this recognition lands alongside work we’ve talked about before: our own experience tracking Scope 2 emissions internally, the kind of “Measure” work that can happen to any company as long as they have the will to act and execute. Being named a Net Zero Collective Progress Honoree isn’t a finish line – it’s confirmation that the reporting discipline behind net zero commitments is worth the effort, and a reason to keep at it as the bar rises.
As NZCA moves into its next five years, and as PH-listed companies face incoming requirements like SEC Memorandum Circular 16 and PFRS S1/S2, the conference’s core message felt right: the transition to net zero is a collective effort, one that depends on companies, policymakers, and financial institutions moving together – as a community, and as a country.
